Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Causly platform operated at causly.org and associated organization subdomains. By using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Platform Overview

Causly is a multi-tenant platform that enables nonprofit organizations to manage donations, products, volunteers, events, and communications. The platform serves three types of users:

• Organizations: Nonprofits that use Causly to manage their operations.
• Supporters: Donors, purchasers, and volunteers who interact with organizations through Causly.
• Platform administrators: Causly staff who maintain the platform.

2. Accounts

You may create an account to manage your interactions with organizations on the platform. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

3. Purchases and Donations

• All purchases and donations are processed through third-party payment providers (PayPal or Stripe).
• Causly does not directly process or store credit card information.
• Prices are set by the individual organizations. Causly is not responsible for pricing decisions.
• Refund policies are determined by each organization. Contact the organization directly for refund requests.
• Transaction records are maintained for both the organization and the supporter.

4. Organization Responsibilities

Organizations using Causly agree to:

• Use the platform only for lawful nonprofit purposes
• Maintain accurate product descriptions and pricing
• Honor purchases and commitments made through the platform
• Handle supporter data in accordance with applicable privacy laws
• Not use the platform for fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activities

5. Communications

By providing your contact information and selecting a communication preference, you consent to receive messages from the organization you're supporting. You may update your preferences at any time through your account portal or by contacting the organization directly.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload to the platform (files, images, logos). By uploading content, you grant Causly and the associated organization a license to store, display, and use that content for the purposes of fulfilling your transaction or supporting the organization's operations.

7. Intellectual Property

The Causly platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Causly. Organizations retain ownership of their own content, logos, and branding uploaded to the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

Causly provides the platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Causly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to lost donations, data loss, or service interruptions.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Organizations may close their accounts at any time. Supporters may request account deletion by contacting the organization or Causly support.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify organizations of material changes via email.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
